Three-day riot begins at the Puerto Rican Festival at Blackstone Park.

The rioting begins when a fight breaks out after the results of the festival’s beauty contest was announced. Cars are stoned, stores are looted and burned, 27 people are injured, and 35 arrested over the next three days.
